The Maryville men's basketball team was looking for its second straight dramatic late win. However, Truman State kept the Saints at bay and escaped Moloney Arena with a 63-61 win when a catch-and-shoot play with 0.4 seconds left could not produce the game-tying basket.

The Saints were down three until
Myles Jerrett hit two free throws to pull the Saints to 60-59 with 1:52 to play. Truman State restored its three-point lead on a bucket by Seth Jackson. On the next trip, the Saints looked inside again, and the results were the same. Jerrett was fouled and he hit two free throws to pull Maryville to 62-61 with 1:04 remaining. The Bulldogs ran the clock down and had a shot from the right wing go up but Jerrett blocked the ball and Jamel Johnson grabbed the defensive rebound.

The Saints again looked for the game-tying basket inside but the shot rimmed out, and Maryville fouled Truman's Kyle Kanaskie with 4.2 seconds to play. He hit the first shot, but missed the second. Jerrett had the rebound, and the Saints pushed the ball up the right sideline. However, the Bulldogs tipped the ball away with 0.4 ticks left. The Saints tried to inbound the ball in the right corner, but the ball was deflected by a TSU defender and the game clock expired.

Jerrett led the Saints (9-5 overall, 3-3 GLVC) with a career-high 14 points and added seven rebounds.
Asa Toney chipped in 12 points and five boards. Mike Carlson topped Truman State (12-3, 5-2 GLVC) with 21 points and nine rebounds.
