Armon Provo poured in 38 points, the fourth-highest total in school history, to pace the Maryville men's basketball team to a 100-63 victory over William Woods Monday night at Moloney Arena. Provo drilled 14-of-18 shots from the field, including 7-of-11 from 3-point range. The Saints scored 100 points for the first time since posting 103 against St. Louis Christian Nov. 11, 2013.

Holding a 39-26 lead at halftime,
Trae Pemberton sank a 3-pointer, and
Max Mischkulnig hit a jumper for a 44-26 edge. William Woods slowly cut into its deficit and closed to 51-38 before the Saints answered with eight straight points.
Evan Booker sank a corner 3-pointer to start the run, and Provo completed a three-point play.
Saikou Jallow worked a layup on the baseline for a 59-38 lead. Provo sealed the game for the Saints as he scored 13 straight points. His three-point play with just less than 11 minutes to play boosted the Saints to a 72-47 lead. Maryville pushed the margin to as many as 30 points in the waning minutes and cruised to the win and improved to 3-2 on the year.

In addition to his career-high 38 points, Provo handed out seven assists and added five rebounds. Trae Pemberton added 15 points, while Damyan Stoyanov finished with 11 points and five rebounds. The Saints shot 17-of-28 from 3-point range (60.7 percent). The 17 made treys is the third-most in a game in program history. As a team, Maryville hit 39-of-64 shots for a 60.9 percent mark, the fifth-best single game percentage in school annals. DJ Johnson topped William Woods with 17 points.

The Saints are next in action Saturday, Dec. 6, when they host Robert Morris-Springfield at 7 p.m. for "Silent Night." Maryville fans will be silent and not cheer until the Saints score their 10th point of the evening.
