Maryville led 50-45 after 30 minutes but the Cardinals scored 30 points in the final stanza.

After William Jewell opened the third quarter with a basket,
Carly Frala nailed a 3-pointer to push the Saints ahead 37-32. Maryville's advantage still stood at 44-37 until
Madeline Hartke and
Ali Ringering scored consecutive buckets to build its largest lead of the day 48-37 with 3:28 remaining in the quarter. The Saints lead was still 50-41 but the Cardinals scored the last four points to draw to 50-45.

Early in the fourth quarter,
Alex Hillyer made two free throws for a 53-48 lead with 9:13 remaining in the game before the Cardinals made their big comeback. WJC scored nine consecutive points and took a 57-53 advantage. Frala knocked down a 3-pointer as the Saints cut the deficit to 57-54 at the 5:24 mark. However, the Cardinals reeled off a 10-0 burst and took control of the game down the stretch.

Hillyer paced the Saints with 18 points and had seven rebounds. Frala added 12 points and grabbed a career-high eight boards. Zinka Duric led William Jewell (9-13, 4-7 GLVC) with 17 points, while Maddie Nelson added 14 points and seven caroms.

The Saints fall to 9-9 overall, 3-8 in the league. Maryville is next in action Thursday, Feb. 4, when it hosts Illinois Springfield in a 5:30 game.
