Box Score Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T scored a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the match and held on to defeat Maryville 3-1 Sunday afternoon in Rolla, Mo.
The Miners (5-1-4, 4-0-3 GLVC) grabbed control of the game from the onset as Felipe Andrade and Will McIntyre scored goals in the first five minutes to grab the early 2-0 lead They added an insurance goal in the 26
th minute as Riley Windsor scored from 12-yards out to give Missouri S&T a 3-0 advantage.
The Saints battled back in the second half as
Joergen Pettersen hammered a pass from
Pontus Gitselov into the back of the goal from 8-yards out to cut the Miner lead to 3-1 in the 66
th minute.
Gitselov led the way for the Saints with seven shots on the day as Maryville held a 21-10 advantage in that department.
Maryville (5-5, 2-5 GLVC) returns home to Maryville Field this Friday, Oct. 7, as the Saints play host to Wisconsin-Parkside. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
