St. Louis – The University of Missouri – St. Louis scored four goals in the first 15 minutes of second half to defeat the Maryville women's soccer team 4-1 at Lou Fusz Soccer Complex Wednesday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half that saw each team have opportunities to take the lead, the Tritons (11-3-1, 11-3-1 GLVC) opened the scoring as Kirsten Crabtree found the back of the net from the left wing to grab a 1-0 lead. McKayla Harder added to the UMSL lead in the 54th minute as she lifted a shot from the left wing to give the Tritons a 2-0 lead. Baylee Williams and Emily Mosier gave UMSL a cushion as they scored within 90 seconds of each other to give the Tritons a 4-0 lead in the 61st minute.
The Saints continued to battle as
Allison Verville scored her sixth goal of the year off a pass from
Nadia Abu-Douleh that deflected off the crossbar to cut the lead to 4-1.
The Saints finish the season with a 6-11-0 overall mark and 5-10-0 GLVC record.
