Alex Hillyer notched 19 points and
Alex Wolf hauled down 12 rebounds to pace the Maryville women's basketball team to a 60-47 victory over McKendree Sunday afternoon in Moloney Arena.

The Saints led 22-19 at halftime and scored the first five points of the second half.
Stephanie Sherwood scored on a layup, and Hillyer nailed a 3-pointer for a 27-19 lead. The Saints could not shake the Bearcats and took a 42-34 lead into the fourth quarter after a Wolf layup.

The Saints took control in the early stages of the fourth quarter with and 8-2 burst.
Carly Frala knocked down a triple, and after a McKendree layup, Sherwood answered with a deep 3-pointer and another layup for a 50-36 lead at the 4:29 mark. The Bearcats got as close as 10 points but the Saints kept the visitors at bay. The Maryville defense held McKendree to just 29.8 percent shooting in the contest.

Hillyer did most of her damage at the line and hit eight free throws en route to her 19 points. Wolf narrowly missed a double-double as she had eight points to go along with her 12 points. She also notched three assists, two blocks and two steals. Jordon Morton paced McKendree (10-13, 5-8 GLVC) with 14 points but was the team's only double figure scorer.

The Saints improve to 10-10 on the year and are 4-9 in league play.
