Chesterfield, Mo. - The Maryville softball team pushed across four runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 10-2 victory over home squad St. Louis College of Pharmacy Tuesday afternoon at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Fields.

Alex Flasch had an RBI groundout, and Nikki Taylor came around to score on a wild pitch. Hope Miller had an infield single that scored Bri Livingston for a 4-0 lead.

The Eutectics scored one run in the bottom of the first but the Saints answered with a run in the second. Kelsey Martin walked, took second on a sac bunt and moved to third on a passed ball. Taylor plated her with an RBI grounder for a 5-1 advantage.

St. Louis College of Pharmacy scored in the home half of the third before the Saints tacked on a solo rally in the fourth. Martin doubled, moved up on a long fly out and scored on Courtney Ferguson's grounder. After another run in the top of the sixth, the Saints sealed their third straight victory with three runs in the top of the seventh, highlighted by Darby Ferguson's two-run triple.

Taylor came out of the bullpen to record her fifth victory of the season as the Saints continued their best start in the Division II era to improve to 12-3. The Eutectics slip to 0-3 this season.
