Memphis - The Maryville softball team rolled to its sixth straight victory as it completed an undefeated swing thru Tennessee with a 2-0 win at Christian Brothers University. Wendy Macias pitched a three-hit shutout to pace the Saints.
The Saints broke through with the only two runs of the game in the top of the third. Courtney Ferguson, who had three hits on the day, singled prior to Bri Livingston drawing a way. Nikki Taylor doubled to score Ferguson with the eventual game-winning run. Livingston scored on a CBU error for the game's final run. CBU got three runners into scoring position but Macias and the Saints defense did not surrender a run in the clutch.Â
The Saints improve to 15-3 on the season and return to Great Lakes Valley Conference action with a doubleheader Friday at Illinois Springfield.
