St. Louis – Mother Nature was not kind Friday evening as the Saints men's soccer match against McKendree University was suspended with just over 39 minutes left in the second half. The score was tied at 0-0 when the suspension took place.
The two teams were forced to sit through an hour and 17-minute delay with 2:56 remaining in the first half as lightning was detected near the Maryville campus.
The teams were able to finish the half in a scoreless tie, but just six minutes in the second half, more lightning was detected and the teams made the decision to suspend the contest.
The game will be completed from the point of interruption at a time to be announced.
