Normandy, Mo. - In the regular-season finale, the Maryville women's team made the short trip to the University of Missouri-St. Louis but the Tritons downed the Saints 79-45. The Saints struggled from the field and were outrebounded on the glass.

The Tritons scored the first four points of the game until
Mary Barton drilled a 3-pointer and two free throws to push the Saints ahead. An
Ellen Foster jumper built a 7-6 edge for the Saints but UMSL used an 11-2 burst into the second quarter for a 17-9 lead.
Carly Frala and Foster sank back-to-back jumpers to bring Maryville to within six at 25-19 but the Tritons scored the last six points for a 31-19 advantage at the break.

Alex Wolf sank a jumper, and Frala converted two at the free-throw line as the Saints inched closer to the hosts 37-23. Barton tallied on a drive and bucket but UMSL hit 7-of-8 free throws to build a 47-25 cushion.
Erin Lenahan sank a 3-pointer from the left wing but that would prove to be as close as the Saints would get in the second half.

Barton topped the Saints with 12 points while Foster finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Jordan Fletcher recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tritons.

The Saints finish the regular season at 12-13, 8-19 in the GLVC. The Tritons are 15-11, 10-8 in the league. Maryville is next in action on the road Sunday, Feb. 26, for the opening round of the 2017 GLVC Tournament at Truman State in a 1 p.m. tip.
