Stephanie Sherwood scored 15 points to lead four Maryville women's basketball players in double figures as the Saints cruised past Southeastern Illinois 85-49 in an exhibition game in Moloney Arena.

The Saints drilled seven 3-pointers in the first quarter, while shooting 60 percent in the opening 10 minutes to grab a 31-6 lead. Maryville did not allow the Lady Falcons to make a field goal and forced the visitors into missing all seven shots. The Saints pushed their advantage out to 56-28 by intermission.

The Maryville advantage grew to as many as 40 points in the second half as the Saints eased to the win. Sherwood made six of her 10 shots, while
Hunter Stidham chipped in 11 points off the bench.
Kayla Steward tallied 10 points, while
Brooklyn Chaffin also reached double figures with 10.
Katie Diakhaby cleaned the glass with eight rebounds, while
UU Longs and
Mary Barton both handed out five assists.

The Saints defense held the Lady Falcons to 26.1 percent shooting (12-of-46) and forced 28 turnovers to key the win. Maryville opens its season with two games in Michigan. The Saints home opener is Saturday, Nov. 17, as they welcome Northwest Missouri State for a 1 p.m. game.
