Emily Frankenreiter and
Bri Livingston each smashed two home runs as the Maryville softball team defeated Christian Brothers University 10-4 and played Trevecca Nazarene to a 4-4 tie as the game was called due to darkness after seven innings of play. The games were played at Bland Field in Memphis, Tenn.
Game One vs Christian Brothers:
The Saints opened the scoring in the top of the first as
Kelsey Martin started the inning with a single scored on
Samantha Hausl single to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. The Bucs took the lead in the bottom of the first with three runs to take a 3-1 advantage. Maryville bounced back in the top of the second as
Courtney Klosinski drilled a double to right center and scored on a Livingston homer to tie the contest at 3-3. The Saints took the lead for good in the third as Frankenreiter blasted a three-run shot to give Maryville a 6-3 lead. The Saints extended the lead in the sixth inning as Livingston drilled a two-run double to right center and Frankenreiter smashed her second homer of the game to stake Maryville to a 10-3 advantage.

Game Two vs Trevecca Nazarene:
After Maryville found themselves behind 1-0 after two innings of play, Hausl singled to left to start things in the fourth.
Courtney Ferguson broke the tie with a single to right center to score Hausl and knot the game at 1-1. The Trojans regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run homer to take a 4-1 advantage. Maryville battled back in the sixth inning as Klosinski and Livingston hit back-to-back home runs to cut the deficit to 4-3. The Saints tied the game in the seventh as Sprague laced a double to right field and scored on a Ferguson single to tie things up at 4-4. The game went into extra frames and was called after the eighth inning due to darkness.
