Fulton, Mo. - The Maryville men's tennis team was narrowly edged 5-4 in a road match at William Woods Tuesday afternoon in Fulton, Mo.
The Owls took the first two doubles points before Jack Beuttell-Triggs and Bodin Aleksic won the No. 2 doubles match 8-3.
In singles play, Bodin posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, and Beuttell-Triggs rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the third singles slot to tie the match. Juan Segura took the top singles point with a 7-5, 6-4 decision. However, William Woods rallied to take the final two singles contests and the match.
The Saints are next in action Friday, April 13, as they host Rockhurst at 2 p.m. at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.
