St. Charles, Mo. – The Maryville women's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the first half and added a goal in the second to defeat Lindenwood University 3-1 Monday night at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
 
What Happened – Mariah Loya opened the scoring for the Saints in the 17
th minute as she took a centering pass from 
Stacie Muehling and tallied from 12-yards out to give Maryville an early 1-0 lead. 
Caite Huesgen extended the Saints lead in the 40th minute to 2-0 as she stole the ball from the Lions keeper and buried a shot from 7-yards out. Lindenwood cut the Maryville lead to 2-1 in the 57
th minute with a shot from 5-yards out. The Saints added an insurance goal in the 65
th minute as 
Kaley Ruff took a corner kick from 
Allison Verville and placed a header into the upper left corner of the net to push the advantage to 3-1. 
 
Inside the Numbers – Elyse Waterhouse earned her first career win and was credited with four saves in the match. 
Alex Johnson paced Maryville with three shots on the night.
