Box Score Kirksville, Mo. – Gavino Carranza scored a pair of goals in the second half to propel the Maryville men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Truman State Sunday afternoon in Kirksville, Mo. The victory is the fourth straight win for the Saints.
 
What Happened – After the two teams battled to even terms after the first 45 minutes, the Saints exploded for four goals in the second frame. Zulfikar Karimi opened the scoring in the 48th minute as he took a pass from Helmiut Florencia and scored from 25-yards out to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. JD Sohn added to the advantage with an unassisted goal off a rebound from 10-yards out in the 66th minute to stake the Saints to a 2-0 lead. Carranza scored the next two goals for Maryville as he tallied in the 72nd and 84th minute to push the lead to 4-0. Carranza's first goal came off a pass from Sohn while the second goal was a blast from 30-yards out.
 
Inside the Numbers – The Bulldogs held a 15-13 advantage in shots, but Maryville put 10 of those shots on frame. Carranza paced the Saints with three shots. Christian Kjaersgaard earned his fifth win of the season and was credited with six saves.
