Casey Teson sank four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 28 points to pace the Maryville men's basketball team to a 90-85 victory over William Jewell. The Saints had four players score in double figures.
Eugene Jones just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while
Zach Colletta and
Dezmond McDaniel finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Jerome Davis hauled down a game-high 11 rebounds. The Saints shot 54.4 percent for the game, including a sizzling 64.5 percent (20-of-31) in the second half.

What Happened
Neither team built a big lead in the first half as the Saints settled for a 38-37 lead heading at halftime. Maryville still held a one-point lead three minutes in before embarking on a 13-1 run to take a lead it would not surrender.
Robin Thompson sank two free throws, and Teson splashed in a 3-pointer. The Cardinals made one free throw before Teson scored eight straight points for a 59-46 advantage with 14:12 to play. The Saints defense forced WJC to miss four shots during the run, while Teson hit all four attempts.

Maryville kept the margin at 70-61 before the Cardinals chipped away at the deficit. McDaniel made a corner jumper but WJC sank a 3-pointer to pull to within 78-76.
Eugene Jones stepped into a 3-pointer from the top of the key to steady the Saints at 81-76 with 4:39 to play. McDaniel tacked on a 3-pointer to push the margin to 84-76. The Cardinals got as close as 84-81 but Teson hit back-to-back jumpers. William Jewell again pulled within one possession before Colletta scored in traffic in the waning seconds to preserve the victory.
