St. Louis –
Alyssa Callans and
Olivia Jarvis pitched a pair of outstanding games to pace the Maryville softball team to a sweep of Lincoln University Friday afternoon at Weber Field. Callans tossed a six-hitter in the opener as the Saints defeated the Blue Tigers 12-2 in five innings, while Jarvis hurled a five-hitter in the Maryville 10-1 victory in the nightcap.
Game One:
The Saints opened things up in the bottom of the first inning as
Samantha Hausl ripped a grand slam home run over the left center field wall to give Maryville a 4-0 lead.
Emily Frankenreiter and
Taylor Shingler each added RBI singles to extend the lead to 6-0 after one inning of play. The Blue Tigers cut into the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the third, but the Saints plated three runs in the bottom of the frame.
Alyssa Callans and
DJ Aaron-Holman each doubled and scored while Shingler singled and scored on an error to push the Maryville lead to 9-2. Maryville tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fourth on four hits to earn the opening game victory.

Game Two:
The offense continued to roll as
Bri Livingston ripped an inside-the-park home run in the left field corner to score
Hannah Tolley as it gave Maryville an early 2-0 lead. Maryville extended the lead in the second as it took advantage of three hits and a pair of Lincoln errors to plate four runs take a 6-0 margin.
Hope Miller and Tolley kept the Saints offense going in the third inning with a pair of RBI singles to push the lead out to 8-0. After the Blue Tigers scratched across a run in the top of the fourth, Maryville added a pair of insurance runs on a throwing error to give the Saints a 10-1 lead.
