Bri Laster scored 48 seconds into overtime to give the Maryville women's lacrosse team its first victory in program history as the Saints rallied for a 12-11 triumph over Oklahoma Baptist. Maryville was trailing 11-8 but scored three goals in the final 4:18 to force overtime.

Claire Martin notched a hat trick when she converted a free position shot to pull the Saints to 11-9 with 4:18 left. Addison Devers tallied at the 3:48 mark to trim the Maryville deficit to just 11-10. Devers then delivered the game-tying goal with just 29 seconds left to force the extra session. To start overtime, Devers won the draw control to give the Saints the valuable first possession. The Saints cycled around the OBU cage before Laster fired in the game winner.

The Saints tallied the first two goals of the game by Martin and Madison Christiansen in the opening five minutes to grab the lead. OBU scored but a weather delay ensued. The Saints eventually led 4-3 at the break as Devers tallied in the waning moments of the first half.

The score was tied four more times, the last at 8-8 with 11 minutes to play before the Bison scored three straight to build an 11-8 lead. The Saints then mounted their late rally before the sudden victory winner. Devers finished with three goals and two assists, while Martin also notched three goals. Laster and Kendall Werkmeister both recorded two scores. Tabatha Saake came up with eight saves to backstop the win.

The Saints are next in action at home when they take on Rockhurst Sunday, March 3, at 11 a.m.
