This Week in Saints Athletics – March 4, 2019
Women's Basketball
The Saints have earned the No. 5 seed for the 2019 GLVC Tournament and face No. 4 Truman State in the quarterfinals Friday, March 8. The game will tip at 8:30 p.m. at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Ill. If the Saints advance, they would take on the winner of the No. 1 Drury-No. 8 McKendree game Saturday, March 9, at 8:30 p.m. The women's championship is slated for Sunday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m.
Baseball
The Saints host Indianapolis for a nonconference series at Weber Field. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday, March 9, and one game Sunday, March 10. Action begins both days starting at Noon.
Bowling
The bowling team participates in the USBC Sectionals March 9-10 held in Addison, Ill.
Men's Lacrosse
Carrying a three-game winning streak, the Saints open GLVC play with a game at Shorter Friday, March 8. Maryville stays on the road and takes on Montevallo Sunday, March 10.
Women's Lacrosse
The women's lacrosse team takes to the road for the first time and its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at Lewis Saturday, March 9.
Softball
The softball squad hosts Upper Iowa for a doubleheader Wednesday, March 6. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Saints face Ohio Dominican for two games Saturday, March 9, starting at Noon on the campus of Lindenwood University. Maryville is back in St. Charles, Mo., as it plays Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday, March 10, for a Noon doubleheader.
Wrestling
The Saints have advanced seven individuals to the 2019 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. The first two rounds will take place Friday, March 8, with the semifinals and championship matches Saturday, March 9. The tournament is being held at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University.
