Murphy, Ritter and Teuber Voted GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Maryville University had three student-athletes chosen as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports for spring 2026. Garnering the honor are Paige Murphy (women's lacrosse), Cole Ritter (wrestling) and Elizabeth Teuber (bowling).

Murphy was voted a first-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as well as by USA Lacrosse Magazine. She led the Saints to the Midwest Regional title, a win in the national semifinal game and an appearance in the national championship contest. Murphy, who was the unanimous pick as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Attacker of the Year, led the nation in goals with 113. She made history as the first player in NCAA Division I or Division II history to score at least 100 goals in three seasons. She finished the year with 134 total points, including 21 assists, recorded 93 draw controls and 39 ground balls.

A four-year starter for the wrestling team, Ritter claimed the Division II 174-lb national title in 2025 and earned All-America honors three times. He secured All-GLVC honors four times while helping the Saints to a GLVC title in 2024 and ninth-place finish at DII Nationals in 2025. Ritter completed his career with a 108-44 record, highlighted by his 35-7 campaign in 2025 that included 21 victories with bonus points. He served as team captain for two years. Ritter was named to the Academic All-GLVC and National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Academic All-America teams four times (2023-26). He carried a 3.867 GPA into his final semester in the MBA program.

Teuber was the GLVC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. A unanimous All-GLVC First Team honoree, she helped lead the Saints to their fourth straight NCAA Tournament. Teuber led the conference with a 209.7 traditional average and a 207.1 Baker average, capping a banner season for the sophomore. She earned GLVC Athlete of the Week honors four times and was named to two All-Tournament teams. Her success extended to the national stage, where she made history by winning both the U.S. Team Trials and the U.S. Amateur Championships, becoming the first bowler in USBC history to win both events in the same year.
