Claire Martin tallied her team-leading ninth goal of the season for the Maryville women's lacrosse team but No. 12 Indianapolis proved worthy of its ranking and record. The Greyhounds moved past the Saints with a 29-1 decision Friday afternoon.

UIndy scored on the first possession of the game to take the early 1-0 lead. Martin won the ensuing draw control as the Saints moved into position. Haley Downs fed Martin who fired in the goal to tie the game 1-1. However, the UIndy offense took over as the visiting Greyhounds pulled away.

The Saints managed two shots in each half. Maryville goalie Tabatha Saake tied her season best with 14 saves on the day as she faced 31 shots on goal in the nets for Maryville. Kendall Werkmeister had two ground balls, while Kiera Samuel and Riley Ebert recorded three and two caused turnovers, respectively.

The Saints are now 1-4 on the season, 0-2 in the GLIAC. Maryville returns to the field Sunday, March 17, with a 1 p.m. contest against Ashland.
