Men's Lacrosse Rallies Past Lake Erie 10-7 for Seventh Straight Victory

The Maryville men's lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to a program-record seven straight as the Saints rallied for a 10-7 triumph over Lake Erie Saturday afternoon. The Saints outscored the Storm 6-1 in the second half to complete the comeback. Parker Lee and Jacob Allen both registered hat tricks to pace the Maryville attack.
 
What Happened
Jayden Fraser scored the first goal of the game at the 8:53 mark but Lake Erie scored two straight for a 2-1 lead after the first 15 minutes. The Saints were down 4-2 before Ty Wenck tallied. Lake Erie grabbed a 6-3 edge but Parker Lee pulled one back as Maryville trailed 6-4 at halftime.
 
Owen Kehoe opened the scoring in the third, and Lee's second tally forced a 6-6 tie. Lee found the back of the net as the Saints retook the lead 7-6 at the 1:33 mark of the quarter. The Maryville defense shut out Lake Erie in the third. Early in the fourth, the Saints garnered control. Down a man, Fraser tallied for a critical 8-6 lead. Lake Erie answered with one goal before Jacob Allen restored a two-goal margin with 5:29 to play, and his score with 4:14 sealed the victory.
 
Fraser finished with two goals on the day, while Lucas Shafer had two assists. Liam Coyle made eight saves in the game. The Maryville defense allowed just one goal over nearly 39 minutes of play.
