St. Louis –
Alyssa Callans pounded out four hits and drove in a pair of runs, including the game winner in the opener, to lead the Maryville University softball team to a sweep of Bellarmine Friday evening at Weber Field. Callans late game heroics helped the Saints to a 3-2 win in nine innings to start the day off. The Saints scored early in the nightcap and held on to earn a 4-2 win to improve their record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference to 5-1.
Game One:
After the two team's played to a scoreless tie through four innings, the Saints cracked the scoreboard in the fifth as
Hannah Tolley laced an RBI single up the middle to score
Samantha Hausl and give Maryville a 1-0 lead. The Knights took the lead in the sixth after scoring a pair of runs to take a 2-1 lead, but the Saints evened the game in their half of the inning as
Alyssa Callans smashed a solo shot over the left field wall to tie the game at 2-2. The game remained tied until the ninth inning as Callans ripped a single in the gap in right center field to score
Bri Livingston and give Maryville the extra innings win.

Game Two:
The Saints took the lead in the first inning as
Jaclyn Pasakarnis lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Tolley as it gave Maryville an early 1-0 lead. After the Knights tied the game in the second, Maryville responded with a pair of runs of their own to take a 3-1 lead.
Olivia Jarvis drove in a run on a fielder's choice while
Emily Frankenreiter added an RBI single to account for the runs. Livingston tacked on another run in the fifth inning with her sixth home run of the season to push the lead to 4-1. Bellarmine cut the Saints lead to 4-2 in the sixth, but that is as close as they get as Jarvis retired the final four Knight batters to claim her 10
th win of the season.
