St. Louis – The Maryville University softball team dropped a pair of games to Ohio Dominican Saturday evening at Weber Field. The Saints could not overcome an early deficit in the opener as the Panthers won 4-2. Ohio Dominican then held Maryville to three hits in the nightcap to earn the sweep with a 5-1 victory.
Game One:
After a scoreless first two innings, the two teams cracked the scoreboard in the third frame. The Panthers plated three runs in their half of the inning while the Saints answered with a pair of their own.
Bri Livingston drilled an RBI double to score Maryville's first run while
Jaclyn Pasakarnis added an RBI on a groundout to cut the ODU lead to 3-2. The Panthers extended their lead in the fourth inning with a run to make the score 4-2. That would be enough as the Panthers held on over the final three innings to claim the victory.

Game Two:
Ohio Dominican opened the score in the nightcap with a run in the second inning to take a 1-0 advantage. The Panthers added two runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 3-0 before the Saints would get on the scoreboard in the sixth frame. Pasakarnis ripped an RBI double to left field to get Maryville to within two runs and make the score 3-1. Ohio Dominican added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to stretch the lead to 5-1 and then put the Saints down in order to secure the sweep.
