The Maryville women's tennis team posted its fourth straight victory with a 4-3 win at Rockhurst Friday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in Kansas City.

Nicole Pafundi and
Clara Bascunana took a tight match at No. 1 doubles with a 7-6 win in a 7-3 tiebreak.
Ashley Dowden and
Sandra Hinterberger swept all six games at No. 3 doubles to give the Saints the early 1-0 lead.

In singles, Pafundi recorded a 6-1, 1-6, 6-0 win at the top position, and Dowden took her match at No. 6 with a 6-3, 6-1. In the clinching match, Hinterberger battled to a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win to hand the Saints the triumph.

The Saints improve to 10-4 overall, 4-1 in the GLVC. Rockhurst drops to 10-11 overall, 3-2 in the conference. Maryville plays again Saturday at William Jewell.
