The Maryville men's tennis team closed the regular season by sweeping William Jewell 7-0. The Saints did not drop a set in any match to improve to 9-7, 4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Louis Glaves and Jack Beuttell-Triggs rolled to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Erik Aarthun and Fernando De Andres Orea combined to win the second slot 6-3. Bodin Aleksic and Juan Segura posted a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
At No. 1 singles, Glaves only lost one game in each set en route to his triumph, while Beuttell-Triggs claimed a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2. De Andres Orea posted a 6-2, 6-2 set score victory at No. 3, Segura won by the same scoreline at No. 4, and Aleksic also won 6-2, 6-2. Donovan McKnight clinched the win in the No. 6 singles position 6-3, 6-1.
The Saints earned the No. 3 seed from the West Division at the GLVC Tournament and face East Division No. 2 seed Lewis Friday, April 19, at Noon CT/1 p.m. ET in Indianapolis.
