Following a perfect 3-0 slate in doubles play, the Maryville women's tennis squad cruised past Quincy 6-1 at Dwight Davis Tennis Center Friday afternoon.

Nicole Pafundi and
Helena Colvee cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Thamara Pinto and
Ashley Dowden recorded a 6-3 win at No. 3. In the final doubles tilt,
Georgina Cupper and
Clara Bascunana had to prevail in a tiebreak for a 7-6 victory at the second doubles position and a clean sweep for the first point.

Pafundi only lost one game to ease to a win at the top of the singles ladder, while Cupper won her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-3. Bascunana took a 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 3, while Colvee split the first two sets at No. 4 by 6-4 scores before she won the third set 10-7. Dowden dominated her singles match at No. 5 6-2, 6-1, while Pinto also won in the final set 10-7.

The Saints improve to 7-4 overall, 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy falls to 6-8 overall, 1-2 in the league. Maryville plays its final home match of the season Saturday, April 6, versus Truman State at 1 p.m. back in Forest Park.
