Dominic Connolly ripped four hits and drove in three runs to pace the Maryville University baseball team to a 9-4 victory over Missouri S&T in an elimination game at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Tournament at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark, Mo. The Saints move on in the double-elimination tournament after the win, while the victory also gave head coach
Pat Evers his 200
thcareer win.

The Saints jumped out to an early advantage in the first as
Drake Lubin and
Wyatt Elbe opened the game with singles while
Louis Niemerg drew a walk to load the bases.
Cody Klotz reached base on a fielding error to score two runs while
Dominic Connolly ripped a two-run single to left center to put the Saints out front 4-0. The Miners cut into the deficit with runs in the second and third innings to push the score to 4-2. Maryville tacked on another run in the seventh as
Camdon Mercier started the inning off with a triple and scored as Connolly hit a single to left to give the Saints a 5-2 cushion. The Saints put the game away in the ninth as Lubin laced a two-run triple into the gap in right center and scored on a wild pitch to give Maryville an 8-2 lead. Klotz drove in the final Saints run with a single to right center to put Maryville ahead 9-2. The Miners scored twice in the ninth, but that is as close as they could get as the Saints claimed their 28
thwin of the season, which ties the program record for most wins in a season.
