Ozark, Mo. – Dominic Connolly ripped four hits and drove in three runs to pace the Maryville University baseball team to a 9-4 victory over Missouri S&T in an elimination game at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Tournament at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark, Mo. The Saints move on in the double-elimination tournament after the win, while the victory also gave head coach Pat Evers his 200^thcareer win.
 
How it Happened:
The Saints jumped out to an early advantage in the first as Drake Lubin and Wyatt Elbe opened the game with singles while Louis Niemerg drew a walk to load the bases. Cody Klotz reached base on a fielding error to score two runs while Dominic Connolly ripped a two-run single to left center to put the Saints out front 4-0. The Miners cut into the deficit with runs in the second and third innings to push the score to 4-2. Maryville tacked on another run in the seventh as Camdon Mercier started the inning off with a triple and scored as Connolly hit a single to left to give the Saints a 5-2 cushion. The Saints put the game away in the ninth as Lubin laced a two-run triple into the gap in right center and scored on a wild pitch to give Maryville an 8-2 lead. Klotz drove in the final Saints run with a single to right center to put Maryville ahead 9-2. The Miners scored twice in the ninth, but that is as close as they could get as the Saints claimed their 28^thwin of the season, which ties the program record for most wins in a season.
