Truman State recap
Jalen Gant scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting but Truman State kept the Maryville men's basketball team at bay as the Saints lost a 65-48 road decision in Kirksville, Mo. The Saints cut a 29-23 halftime margin to just one point but were unable to grab the lead in the second half.
 
What Happened
The Saints trailed 29-23 at halftime but opened the second 20 minutes on a 6-1 run. Jalen Gant sank two free throws, and Dezmond McDaniel rattled in a long jumper. Ross Ryan tallied to bring the Saints to 30-29 four minutes after the break. Truman went on an 8-0 run to claim its largest lead of the game. Gant scored to break the Maryville drought and cut the margin to 40-33 with 11:48 remaining. The Bulldogs used another run as the Saints went scoreless for four minutes. Maryville went on a 7-2 run and trimmed the gap down to 54-40 on a Parker Long jumper. Owen Long drained a 3-pointer, and McDaniel sank a jumper to make it 58-45 with 3:28 left but were unable to get the deficit below 10 points.
 
Gant finished with 15 points and has scored in double figures in every game this season. Parker Long had his second best rebounding total of the season and paced Maryville with six rebounds and handed out three assists.
