McKendree-MU wrestling dual results in PDF
In a Great Lakes Valley Conference wrestling match, No. 5 McKendree defeated Maryville 37-3 Tuesday night in Moloney Arena. Most of the matches were closely contested as six of the bouts were won via decision.

The Bearcats took the first two matches, including a meeting of top 10 wrestlers at 125, before
Alex Waggoner got the Saints on the scoreboard with a 6-4 decision to win his 141 match. McKendree's nationally-ranked wrestler at 149, Juwan Edmond posted a fall, and the Bearcats also took a narrow decision at 157 as No. 10 Nate Smalling had to work to the final buzzer to edge
Tanner Sparks.

McKendree's Nick Foster is No. 2 in the nation at 165 and he posted a fall. The Bearcats won at 174 plus had a medical forfeit to take the 184 class. McKendree's ranked wrestlers at 197 and 285 both prevailed over their Saints counterparts to close out the match.

The Saints are back on the mat Sunday, Jan. 26, as they travel to Topeka, Kan., to face Newman University.
