The Maryville University men's basketball team built a double-digit lead but Lindenwood rallied to edge the Saints 73-69 Thursday night in Moloney Arena.
Owen Long led the Saints with 19 points, while
Ari Jackson chipped in 18 points, and
Daniel Farris added 12 points.

What Happened
With the score tied at 7-7, the Saints reeled off nine straight points.
JT Morgan started the run with an offensive rebound and put back. Long rattled in a jumper, and Farris scored on a drive. Morgan sank a 3-pointer for a 16-7 advantage. The Lions hit a three but Daniel Walker had back-to-back buckets. Long grabbed a long defensive rebound and his layup built Maryville's biggest lead of the day at 22-10. However, the visitors chipped away and eventually took a 27-26 lead at halftime.

Lindenwood started the second half with a 3-pointer but Jackson answered for the Saints. At the 14:20 mark, Jackson hit a long two-pointer to bring the deficit down to 38-36. Lindenwood outscored the Saints 12-1 and grabbed a double-digit margin. Maryville made one late charge and cut the lead down to five in with just over a minute to play but never was able to make it a one-possession game. Farris had another strong all-round game and added five rebounds, five assists and four steals to his 12 points.
