Katie Von Mecklenburg scored on a free-position attempt with 13 seconds left to power the Maryville women's lacrosse team to a wild 10-9 victory at Oklahoma Baptist.
Kendall Werkmeister led the Saints with a hat trick on the day.
Tabatha Saake made eight saves to pick up the win in the cage.

Kendall Werkmeister opened the scoring less than two minutes in, and Von Mecklenburg doubled the Maryville led. OBU slowly rallied and tied the game 2-2 heading into halftime.
Claire Martin put the Saints back ahead before the Bison took their first lead on three straight scores.
Haley Downs tallied two straight goals for a 5-5 tie, and
Lexi Taylor's tally pushed the Saints ahead 6-5 at the 14:54 mark.

OBU used a burst and retook the advantage at 8-7 until Werkmeister scored twice in a seven-second span for a 9-8 lead. The Bison tied the contest 9-9 on their next possession to set up the late-game drama. OBU won the draw but the Saints defense forced a turnover with just over one minute remaining in the game. The Saints worked the clock and earned a free-position attempt, and Von Mecklenburg delivered the game-winning goal with 13 ticks to play. Maryville won the ensuing draw and ran out the clock for the season-opening victory.

Maryville held a narrow 23-18 lead in shots and had 21 on goal. The Saints are 1-0 on the season and next are in action as they head to Missouri Valley Saturday, Feb. 22.
