St. Louis – Davenport University pounded out 21 hits and scored 16 times in the middle innings to cruise to a 19-1 victory over the Maryville University baseball team Sunday afternoon at Weber Field.

The Panthers opened the scoring with three runs in the first frame to take an early 3-0 lead. The Saints cut into the deficit in the home half of the second as
Alex Hoff drilled a one out triple to right center field and scored on a fielder's choice by
Nick Hofmann to make the score 3-1. Davenport broke the game wide open as they posted crooked numbers in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 19-1 lead and earn the series sweep over the Saints.
