Callans and Nolde Power Saints in Sweep of Minnesota State Moorhead

St. Louis – Alyssa Callans and Carly Nolde each threw two-hitters to aid the Maryville softball team to a sweep of Minnesota State Moorhead Sunday afternoon at the Maryville Athletic Complex. The Saints exploded for five runs in the third inning to win the opener 5-0 and then put up another crooked number in the first inning of the nightcap to earn an 11-2 victory over the Dragons.

Game One:
The Saints scored all the runs that they needed in the third as Taylor Duff opened the frame with a walk and moved to second on a Hannah Tolley infield single. After Jaclyn Pasakarnis was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Callans ripped a two-run single to give Maryville a 2-0 lead. Samantha Hausl extended the lead with a three-run blast to left field to put the Saints ahead 5-0. The home run for Hausl was the first at the new Maryville Athletic Complex.
