Drury recap
Despite double-doubles by
UU Longs and
Karlee Feldman in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference women's basketball tournament, Maryville battled top-seed Drury but was edged out 94-73. The No. 1 Lady Panthers opened the fourth quarter by scoring 13 straight points to pull away late. Longs tied her career best with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Feldman matched her career bests of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

What Happened
Mary Barton hit a jumper for an early 6-4 lead, and an
Abby Monis offensive rebound and putback was good for an 8-4 advantage. The Saints were still leading 12-10 before Drury went on a 10-0 run to grab the lead. Drury led by single digits for most of the half as the Saints took advantage at the free-throw line by hitting 13-of-15. Both teams shot nearly 57 percent in the first half as Drury took a 56-49 lead into the break.

The Saints started the third quarter on a 5-0 run as Barton drilled a deep 3-pointer from the left wing, and a
UU Longs jumper trimmed the gap down to 56-54. Maryville had two chances to tie or take the lead before Drury edged out to a 63-54 margin. Feldman grabbed a miss and banked in a shot as Maryville cut the gap to 63-56 with 4:53 left. The Saints stayed close as Barton hit a jumper at the buzzer to pull Maryville to 72-61 after three quarters. However, the Lady Panthers grabbed control by scoring the first 13 points of the quarter.

The Saints battled foul trouble throughout the game and had five players collect at least four fouls in the contest. Jansen led the Saints with 13 points, Monis chipped in 12 points while Barton had 11.
