Truman State Recap
The Maryville women's basketball team had a three-game winning streak end 83-72 at Truman State. The Lady Bulldogs shot 57.4 percent and knocked down 11 3-pointers to stop the Saints Saturday afternoon.
Jayda Jansen topped four Maryville players in double figures with 21 points.
Antoinette Mussorici added 17 points, four assists and four steals.

What Happened
The Saints scored the first six points of the game and led for most of the first quarter. However, Truman State went on a big run to close the opening 10 minutes for a 27-18 lead. The Lady Bulldogs sank seven 3-pointers in the first quarter.
Kate Rolfes drained a triple to open the second quarter to stop the TSU run, and
Hunter Stidham knocked down a jumper to pull the Saints to within four.

The Saints were still down 37-30 but rallied to tie the contest. Jansen hit back-to-back jumpers. After a TSU layup, Jansen drilled a 3-pointer. The sophomore continued her torrid streak and her layup tied the game at 37-37.
Karlee Feldman sank two free throws for a 41-39 Saints lead. The game moved to halftime tied at 45-all. The Saints shot 54.8 percent in the first 20 minutes but Truman State hit eight 3-pointers.

Truman scored the first four points but
Olivia Kastens scored and a
Hunter Stidham put the Saints ahead 51-50. The teams traded the lead before a three-point play by Jansen gave Maryville a 58-57 edge. TSU answered to take a 64-58 lead heading into the final quarter. Kastens scored to cut the Maryville deficit to four, and the Saints were down only 68-63 after a Mussorici jumper. Truman tallied five straight points to grab a double-digit lead with six minutes to play. Mussorici sank two free throws and a layup to bring Maryville to within 73-67. However, Truman State used a 9-2 run to take the victory.
