Rockhurst Recap
The Maryville men's basketball team was looking for a sweep of the Kansas City schools but Rockhurst repelled a late rally to down the Saints 67-57. Maryville had started the trip with a win at William Jewell Thursday night.
Daniel Farris and
Owen Long guided the Saints as both finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Long also handed out five assists.

What Happened
A
Davis Walker jumper and
Kamto Eze throw down built the Saints a 4-3 lead. The teams traded being up front until Walker drained a 3-pointer for a 9-7 lead. Rockhurst tied the game again but
Ari Jackson found the range from deep for a 12-9 edge. The Hawks retook the lead before
Owen Long hit a trey and a wing jumper for a 17-14 lead midway through the half. However, the Hawks heated up and slowly built up a lead that stretched to 36-27 by halftime.

Rockhurst led by as many as 16 in the second half but the Saints made a charge. Long splashed a 3-pointer, and Walker converted a deep jumper. Later,
Donovan Parker hit an elbow jumper to bring the Saints to within 54-46 with eight minutes to play. With 5:54 left,
Daniel Farris converted two at the free throw line as Maryville again closed the gap to single figures at 57-48. After a defensive stop, Long was good for two more at the stripe to bring the Saints to 57-50. Farris had an offensive rebound for a put back that pulled the Saints to 59-54 at the 3:31 mark. However, the Hawks hit back-to-back threes to rebuild a double-digit advantage and hold on for the win.
