Antoinette Mussorici tied the third-best scoring output in program history with 37 points but the Maryville women's basketball team was edged by Southwest Baptist 100-97 in a double overtime thriller. Her output pushed the Saints to their highest scoring output since scoring 98 points twice during the 2010-11 season and is the fourth-most in program history.
Taylor Kirby had a career-high 19 points,
Jayda Jansen tallied 18, while
Hunter Stidham grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds.

What Happened
The Saints were down 54-46 with 4:11 left in the third quarter but went on a 12-2 run to take a 58-56 lead before the game was tied at 58-58 heading to the fourth. The Saints tallied the first nine points of the quarter for a 65-58 lead but the Bearcats came back to take a 71-70 lead with two minutes left. Kirby sank two free throws but SBU scored five straight to a 76-72 lead at the 22 second mark. Mussorici scored but SBU hit two more free throws. Stidham sank a 3-pointer before the Bearcats made one free throw for a 79-77 lead with 10 seconds left. Mussorici drove down the left side of the lane and banked in a layup with 2.2 ticks to go that forced overtime.

In the first OT, the teams traded the lead until
Donnetta Colbert put Maryville up 84-83 with 1:18 to go. SBU nailed another 3-pointer but
Karlee Feldman's short jumper tied the game at 86-all. The Bearcats missed a layup, and Maryville's long trey at the buzzer misfired.

The second overtime saw SBU score first before Mussorici nailed a 3-pointer for an 89-88 lead. The visitors found the range from deep but Mussorici tied the game at 91-91 with just under two minutes remaining. SBU converted two at the line followed by one for the Saints. The Bearcats built a 95-92 with 52 seconds to play. Maryville added one at the free-throw line to cut the deficit to 95-93. However, the Bearcats sank their 13th 3-pointer of the night with 15.2 seconds to play to effectively seal the win.

Mussorici shot 13-of-21 from the field, made three 3-pointers, and went 8-of-10 at the line.
Donnetta Colbert provided a spark off the bench with five points, a career-high five steals and three assists.
