Normandy, Mo. –
Taylor Keck registered 10 kills for the Maryville volleyball team which dropped its season finale at the University of Missouri-St. Louis 25-10, 25-20, 25-17 Friday evening.
Taylor Hasbrook led the defense with 12 digs, while
Rachel Hurt tallied seven kills.

What Happened
The Tritons used a hot start while the Saints struggled out of the block as the hosts took the opening set. UMSL built a 4-1 lead in the second set before Keck had consecutive kills. The Saints were down 10-6 but
Rachel Hurt had a kill and an UMSL error trimmed the deficit down to 10-8. The margin was still only 12-10 after another kill by Keck but the Tritons pushed back out to a five-point lead and held on for a 25-20 win.

In the third set, the Saints forged a 5-5 tie on an UMSL error until the Tritons rebuilt a 12-6 edge. Keck had a kill before back-to-back blocks by
Ella Kosky pulled the Saints to within 12-9. Maryville got as close as 14-12 after a block by
Mikaela Kues and
Karolina Rodowski. UMSL retook a 16-12 advantage before the Saints made one more charge. Kues had a kill, and two miscues by UMSL brought Maryville to within 16-15. However, the Saints were unable to tie the set as UMSL held on for the victory.
