The Maryville men's basketball team closed out the 2020-21 season with an 81-58 defeat at Lewis Saturday afternoon.
Owen Long led three Saints in double figures with 12 points.
Kamto Eze and
Donovan Parker each chipped in 10 points apiece. The Saints finished the season with an 8-12 record overall and in the league, their most Great Lakes Valley Conference wins since the 2017-18 campaign.

What Happened
A 3-pointer by Long put the Saints up 15-12, and Maryville was still up 17-14 after a
Jaelon Hood hoop. The Flyers scored 12 consecutive points before a
JT Morgan triple brought the Saints to 26-20. Later, Long hit back-to-back threes as Maryville trimmed the Lewis lead down to 30-26 with four minutes left in the first half. The Flyers scored the final seven points to grab a 37-26 lead at halftime. The Saints shot 55 percent in the first half.

Early in the second half, Eze scored inside as the Saints drew to within 39-33. The Flyers used a quick 8-2 burst to build a double-digit advantage. Another Eze hoop in the lane made the score 57-47 with just over seven minutes to play. However, the Flyers used a 9-0 run the assume control.

Eze led the Saints with five rebounds, while
Daniel Farris finished with six assists, and Hood recorded four steals.
