Jayda Jansen scored 23 points and
Karlee Feldman had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds but the Maryville women's basketball team was tripped up 90-77 at Lewis in the regular season finale. The Saints earned the seventh seed for the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference and will open postseason play at Truman State Wednesday, March 3. Game time in Pershing Arena will be at 5:15 p.m.

What Happened
The Saints went up 14-12 on a Feldman layup but Lewis ended the first quarter on a 10-2 run. A
Rylee Mulvaney free throw drew the Saints to within 24-19 early in the second. Lewis scored 11 straight to surge to a 35-19 advantage. Maryville chipped away and back-to-back buckets by
Carsyn Fearday and Jansen cut the Lewis lead to 41-31 at halftime.

The Flyers tallied seven of the first nine points after the break and jumped to a 48-33 edge. The Saints would not allow Lewis to pull away and got as close as 67-56 in the final seconds of the third quarter. Maryville opened the fourth on a 9-2 run. Jansen started the run with a basket, and
Donnetta Colbert and Feldman tallied consecutive layups. A Jansen triple chopped Lewis' lead to just 71-66 with 7:46 remaining in the game. However, Lewis tallied nine of the next 10 points to rebuild a double-digit advantage and kept the Saints at bay.
