In its 2021 season opener, the Maryville women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-8 decision to Northern Michigan Tuesday afternoon.
Skyler Jolie scored two goals and notched two assists for four points to lead the Saints offense. Six Maryville players scored on the day.
Tabatha Saake posted a career-high 17 saves in the nets.

What Happened
The Wildcats scored first but the Saints took the lead on back-to-back goals by
Claire Martin and Jolie. NMU responded with four straight before
Rachel Kerwin cut the deficit to 5-3. Northern Michigan tallied two scores but Maryville answered with two consecutive goals.
Haley Downs and
Lexi Taylor found the back of the net to bring the Saints to within 7-5. NMU took a 10-5 lead into halftime.

Jolie scored her second of the day to keep the Saints within 11-6.
Julia Banfield tallied for a 13-7 margin but the Wildcats rebuilt their lead to double digits.
