The Maryville women's tennis team made the short trip over to the University of Missouri-St. Louis but the Tritons handed the Saints a 5-2 defeat Saturday afternoon. The loss is the first of the season for Maryville.
 
At the No. 2 doubles positon, Emily Orlove and Carolina Velazquez rolled to a 6-1 win. However, the Tritons took the other two matches to earn the doubles point.
 
In singles play, Velazquez rallied to win her contest at the No. 3 position 3-6, 7-5, 10-8. Ashley Dowden came back to take her match at the sixth slot 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
 
The Saints now stand at 3-1 on the season. Maryville is back in action Saturday, April 3, as they play at Lindenwood.
