Indianapolis - The Maryville women's lacrosse team was playing its second straight opponent ranked in the top two in the country. No. 1 Indianapolis proved worthy of its top billing as the Greyhounds moved past the Saints 27-0. Maryville played No. 2 Lindenwood Sunday.

UIndy scored the first goal of the game in the first minute and kept up the pressure by winning the ensuing draw controls. The hosts reached double digits in goals at the 12 minute mark. The Saints had their best scoring chance in the first half when
Alise Sextro fired a shot on goal that was turned away in the final minute.

Lexi Taylor put on shot on frame that was saved early in the second half, while
Jessie Hynes had two scoring opportunities midway through the period.
Tabatha Saake faced 39 shots on the night and came up with 12 saves. Â

The Saints are now 1-7, 1-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Indianapolis remains perfect at 10-0 overall, 4-0 in the GLVC. Maryville is next in action Sunday, April 18, when they travel to face Lewis.
