For the first time, the Maryville women's tennis team defeated Lewis as the Saints prevailed 4-3 at Dwight Davis Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.

Georgie Cupper and
Maria Paula Suarez cruised to a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles, and
Ashley Dowden and
Maria Gouveia posted a 6-1 victory at the second slot to earn the Saints the doubles point.

Dowden won the first singles point for Maryville as she moved to a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 5.
Emily Orlove posted a 6-0, 6-4 triumph at No. 4. Gouveia clinched the winning point for the Saints as she worked for a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Saints improve to 6-2 overall, 4-2 in the GLVC. Maryville is next in action Friday, April 23, as McKendree visits Dwight Davis Tennis Center for a 2 p.m. match.
