St. Louis – The Maryville softball team gained a split decision with Illinois Springfield on Tuesday afternoon at the Maryville Athletic Complex. Game one was won on a walk-off single by
Taylor Shingler in the bottom of the seventh for a 3-2 Saints victory. The nightcap was tight for the first six innings, but a four-run seventh inning gave the Prairie Stars an 8-3 win.
Game One:
The Prairie Stars found a run in the first, but the Saints answered immediately in the bottom half when
Alyssa Callans helped her own cause with a single up the middle to bring in Shingler from second, tying the game 1-1.
