St. Louis, Mo. – The Maryville University men's soccer team fought to a 2-2 draw with Tiffin University Saturday at Maryville Field. Freshman

Victor DeGiorgio found the scoresheet in the final exhibition contest of the fall.

The Run of Play – The home team found the back of the net first with a 37
th minute rocket courtesy of freshman
Mason Crew. The ball was curled in from the left side by
Dom Riggio and laid off by
Bryce Dickerson right outside of the six-yard box for Crew to hammer home. The Dragons equalized in the 41
st minute and the teams went into the half tied 2-2.

DeGiorgio broke the tie in the 62
nd minute by capitalizing on a second-chance opportunity from five yards out to make the score 2-1.

Tiffin leveled the match in the 81
st minute and later forced the Saints into a goal-line stand with just seconds remaining. Defender
Andrew Schulz kept the final effort by the Dragons out of the goal as time expired as the match ended 2-2.

Inside the Numbers – Maryville sprayed 17 shots in the contest and put seven shots on frame.

Next Up – The Saints open the regular season with a home match on Friday, Sept. 3, against Lynn University. The contest versus the Fighting Knights will be kickoff at 5 p.m.
