Springfield, Mo. – The Maryville women's team was looking to build a mini winning streak but No. 4 Drury turned the Saints back 75-49 in the O'Reilly Center. Three Maryville players scored in double figures with
Antoinette Mussorici and
Haidyn Pitsch both scoring 11 points apiece, while
Abby Weis added 10.

What Happened:
Pitsch sank two early field goals, and a
Carsyn Fearday jumper tied the score at 8-8. Drury went on a 10-0 run before
Olivia Kastens sank two free throws to trim the deficit to 18-10. The hosts scored 13 of the final 14 points of the quarter to build a 31-11 lead. The teams traded scores until the midpoint of the quarter. Drury used a 9-2 burst to take a 48-21 edge into the break.

Mussorici went on a personal 7-2 run to keep Drury from pulling away in the third. Weis drained a 3-pointer but the Lady Panthers scored six straight to close the quarter. Pitsch converted a deep 3-pointer to open the final quarter and build some momentum. The Saints tallied six unanswered points but never trimmed the deficit below 20 the rest of the way.
