Elgin, Ill. - The Maryville men's volleyball team saw its winning streak come to an end in a closely contested match at Judson. The Eagles defeated the Saints 23-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-17 Friday afternoon. Maryville was slated to play later versus Cumberland.

Set one was tied at 14-14 before the Saints scored five straight points to surge ahead.
Tate Sandvig recorded a kill to start the run, and
Jacob Fischer picked up two blocks and a kills as the Saints went up 19-14. Judson closed the gap to 24-23 but
Mason Mortimer's kill gave the Saints the win. Set two was close the entire way and was deadlocked at 24-24. However, Judson scored two straight to even the match.

Maryville was down 21-16 but charged back to trim the deficit to 24-23. However, Judson scored on the next serve to win 25-23 and take a 2-1 lead in sets. The Saints found themselves trailing 7-3 but scored four consecutive points to forge a 7-7 tie. Maryville took the lead and held it until 14-13 before Judson went on a big run to take control of the set and close out the match 25-17. Sandvig finished with 13 kills, while Mortimer added 12 kills.
Westin Roy picked up 11 digs, and
Cameron Chambers handed out 41 assists.
