North Canton, Ohio – Against No. 20 Walsh,
Ari Jackson sank six 3-pointers but the Saints were narrowly edged by the Cavaliers 72-61 to close the GMAC-GLVC Crossover Tournament in North Canton, Ohio. Jackson finished with 18 points as the Saints hit 11 shots from beyond the arc on the day.
Dewayne Vass added 14 points for Maryville, while
JT Morgan paced the Saints with six rebounds.
Walsh Recap
Trailing 20-13, the Saints roared ahead on an 8-0 run. After one
Dylan Ingram free throw, Jackson drained a 3-pointer.
Kelvin Swims scored on a layup, and
JT Morgan threw down a dunk for a 21-20 Maryville lead. The Cavaliers retook the lead but another trey by Jackson and a layup by
Dewayne Vass put the Saints on top 26-23. Walsh scored just before the halftime buzzer to cut the Maryville margin to 31-30.

The Cavaliers grabbed the lead early in the second half and a Swims bucket pulled the Saints to within one point. Walsh went on an 11-2 run that led to a double-digit lead at 50-40 with 12 minutes to play.
Jaeden Smith swished a 3-pointer, and a Jackson jumper drew Maryville back to 59-52. Vass hit a pull-up jumper that cut the Walsh led to just 63-54 with 3:01 remaining. The Saints made one more push and closed to 68-61 in the final minute but the Saints were unable to trim the deficit any further.
